Hakob Arshakyan First to Alert About Fire Breaking Out at Dolmama Restaurant

Hakob Arshakyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, was the first to alert the Ministry of Emergency Situations about a fire that broke out on the roof of the Dolmama restaurant, located at the intersection of Abovyan and Pushkin streets in Yerevan.

This information was shared by the head of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Major General Vrezh Gabrielyan, during a conversation with journalists on November 21.

“After Hakob Arshakyan's call, other citizens also called in, but we were already aware and were able to respond quickly,” Gabrielyan stated.

Present at the scene, Arshakyan noted that he would go to work once he sees that the rescuers are able to save the building. “I called the Minister of Emergency Situations and said that the situation is very critical. If the fire spreads, and just a few minutes later, the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were already here. Serious work has already been done. It's one of the beautiful buildings in Yerevan, and it's very unfortunate that it is burning. I want to understand that they can save the building, and then I will go to my work,” Arshakyan said.

It is noteworthy that at 1:59 PM today, the “911” service received an alert about a fire that broke out on the roof of a two-story building at the intersection of Abovyan and Pushkin streets in Yerevan. Two fire-rescue units and one ladder truck were dispatched from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It has been determined that the fire started on the roof of the Dolmama restaurant at 10 Abovyan Street, affecting the wooden structural elements of the roof.
