Armenians Have Contributed to the Prosperity of Every Country: Pashinyan in Milan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, delivered a speech at the Armenian Apostolic Church of Saint Forty Martyrs in Milan. As reported by an 'Armenpress' correspondent from Milan, the Prime Minister welcomed those present, expressing his happiness for the meeting and the occasion.
“I am very happy to be here today and to have the opportunity to be together. It is very symbolic that I am making an official visit to Italy, but currently within the framework of an exclusively Armenian agenda. We arrived here from Venice, where we visited the island of Saint Lazarus and the Mekhitarist Congregation, and here is our second stop at the Armenian Apostolic Church in Milan. This is indeed very symbolic. No matter what agenda we are addressing or which country we are visiting, starting from my trip to Singapore, we encounter unique samples of Armenian history, and we meet with our compatriots all around the world. This kind of dispersal of ours globally is usually perceived as a consequence of our historical misfortunes, but in these new times, we must try to turn the ramifications of our historical difficulties into a new advantage for our people and state, because I consider this power that we have across the world to be very important.
The oldest church in Singapore is the Armenian church. Armenians in all countries have contributed to the prosperity of those nations; they have played a role in the economy, culture, education, and science of those countries. This is the most significant characteristic of our nation and people. We must present ourselves to the world through this image,” said Pashinyan.
