Prime Minister's Spokesman on Dismissal of Moises Hakobyan and His Deputies

The decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia to dismiss Chief Military Inspector Moises Hakobyan, his first deputy Kamo Kochunts, and deputy Vachagan Nersisyan is related to legislative changes. According to these changes, the Chief Military Inspectorate of Armenia has been reorganized and has come under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

This was stated by the Prime Minister's spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan in an interview with ArmDaily.am. He noted that the newly formed unit will be named the Monitoring Service of the Ministry of Defense, performing the same functions as the Chief Military Inspectorate.

When asked whether Hakobyan and his deputies would retain their positions within the Ministry of Defense, Karapetyan stated that since the agency is transitioning under the Ministry of Defense's jurisdiction, the appointment or dismissal of the head and deputies of the Monitoring Service will become the prerogative of the Minister.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, had mentioned that although the structure is becoming part of the Ministry of Defense, he could not say whether Moises Hakobyan would be appointed as the head of that service, as these appointments are not direct appointments by the Ministry of Defense.
