All candidates nominated for the Anti-Corruption Committee have been successful, said Sergey Bagratyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, during the discussion on the election of members of the Anti-Corruption Committee in the National Assembly.

He noted that after the formation of this body, efforts should be made to raise public legal awareness.

Referring to the fact that this body will include candidates from the government, the High Judicial Council, and the My Step faction, as well as candidates from two parliamentary opposition parties, Bagratyan urged not to consider this a "favor" directed towards the opposition.

“The importance of including the opposition in this structure was stressed by my colleague primarily to prevent dissent. I do not share this view; this is a politically significant decision. The presence of an opposition candidate in the committee is crucial for the government. To gain public trust, the ruling political force must expand the representation of the opposition in all bodies as much as possible. This is the best proof that the power will operate transparently,” said Bagratyan, adding.

“We must build a state where the opposition has as much power as the government. Only then can we have a strong state. Every day you should be thankful that you have an opposition like us. There cannot be a strong government without a strong opposition. Every day you should be thankful that you have an opposition like us and are forced to work on yourselves. In this sense, I congratulate you.”
