‘Zhamanak’: Relocating Customs Office to Gyumri Did Not Solve Importers' Issues
‘Zhamanak’ newspaper reports that relocating the customs office to Gyumri has not resolved the issues faced by car importers. Recently, we have been receiving regular complaints from importers about the catastrophic queues at the Gyumri customs office.
“This morning at 8:10 AM, there were already 220 cars in line. The queue stretched 1 km and 200 meters,” complained one importer who called ‘Zhamanak’. According to him, the worst part is that the service is being provided extremely slowly. Only 1-2 cars are cleared in 1.5 hours: “In 1-1.5 hours, we barely move 200 meters. It’s a terrible situation. It’s impossible to continue like this. The end of the year is approaching, and it is understandable that the number of imported vehicles has increased, but the quality and speed of service have not changed.”
