Urgent Photos: Food Marked ‘Soldier's Portion. Not for Sale’ Found in Kindergarten
The Armenian Food Safety Inspection Body continues its supervisory work in schools and kindergartens in the Ararat Province. Inspectors have found that the kitchens of Kindergarten No. 1 in the town of Masis and the 'Manushak' kindergarten in the Geghanist community are operating in violation of food safety standards.
In the Geghanist kindergarten, unmarked butter and poorly labeled cheese (lacking labels in Armenian) were discovered, leading to a suspension of their sale. Additionally, expired yogurt and eggs were found and subsequently destroyed on site.
At Kindergarten No. 1 in Masis, six 200g containers of sour cream produced by 'KHAK' LLC were found, marked 'Soldier's Portion. Not for Sale', supplied by 'Ruz Marti' LLC. A report has been filed with the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the sale of the sour cream.
This educational institution also revealed plant-based products made from vegetable oil using sour cream technology, which are prohibited from being sold in kindergartens. The sales of both sour cream and plant-based products have been halted.
An investigation has been launched into 'Ruz Marti' LLC, the supplier of the sour cream marked 'Soldier's Portion. Not for Sale'. Control at Kindergarten No. 1 in Masis continues, and administrative penalties will be applied.
