‘Zhamanak’: Acting Chief of the NSS Eduard Martirosyan Returns Discredited Personnel to the System
‘Zhamanak’ newspaper writes: Acting Chief of the National Security Service (NSS) Eduard Martirosyan, realizing that he will not be appointed as the head of the NSS, has begun to return his acquaintances, friends, and former discredited personnel to the system.
In particular, according to ‘Zhamanak’, he has reintroduced Hayk Avagyan into the system, who was the head of the Smuggling Division during the tenure of former NSS Director Karlos Petrosyan. He also has familial ties with Karlos Petrosyan and is a friend of Eduard Martirosyan.
Hayk Avagyan was dismissed in 2002-2003 for extortion. During his time in office, he became so discredited that he was not accepted into any state system after his dismissal. However, it turns out that the acting NSS director wishes to reinstate him to his former position.
According to our information, Hayk Avagyan's case is currently in the appointment phase. For more details, see today’s issue of the newspaper.
