What Issues Were Discussed by Dariga Nazarbayeva and Nikol Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dariga Nazarbayeva. Welcoming Nazarbayeva's visit to Armenia, the Prime Minister noted that the activation of high-level official exchanges attests to the high level of relations, and Armenia is interested in developing ties with Kazakhstan both bilaterally and multilaterally.

Pashinyan emphasized the importance of cooperation within international organizations such as the EAEU and CSTO, highly valuing bilateral political dialogue and expressing gratitude for Kazakhstan's balanced position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Speaking about trade and economic ties, Prime Minister Pashinyan pointed out that there is significant potential to deepen these relationships through both bilateral projects and within the framework of the EAEU.

Dariga Nazarbayeva expressed that she is impressed by her first visit to Armenia and emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening relations with Armenia, which is also facilitated by active inter-parliamentary connections. She congratulated Pashinyan on Armenia's successful presidency in the EAEU, during which trade and economic cooperation agreements were signed between Singapore and the EAEU, creating good opportunities for the EAEU’s development.

According to Nazarbayeva, Kazakhstan is interested in attracting investments from Armenia into its economy, with promising areas of bilateral cooperation including artificial intelligence, technology, agriculture, science, and several other sectors.

Pashinyan agreed with Nazarbayeva, highlighting the importance of attracting mutual investments and noting that cooperation in the construction sector could also be promising.

The interlocutors underlined the significant role of the Kazakh Armenian community as an important factor in strengthening the relations between the two countries. The Prime Minister thanked the Kazakh authorities for their treatment of the local Armenian community and the conditions created for them.

Nazarbayeva noted that Armenians in Kazakhstan are successful entrepreneurs and are actively involved in the development of various sectors in the country. The Prime Minister of Armenia and the Chairperson of the Senate of Kazakhstan exchanged views on the recent meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held in Yerevan in October and on the development of cooperation within the EAEU framework.

Nazarbayeva expressed satisfaction with the constructive cooperation between the two countries on international platforms. Pashinyan noted the high level of Armenia-Kazakhstan dialogue and stated that Armenia would be pleased to host Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on an official visit next year.
