Parliament Discusses 2020 Budget Draft with Only 20 Deputies Present

The National Assembly of Armenia has been discussing the 2020 budget draft for the third day, reports NEWS.am correspondent.

Most likely, the parliamentarians have grown weary of listening and engaging in the speeches of their colleagues and government representatives. As a result, many of them simply left the session hall, and currently, the discussion on the 2020 budget draft is taking place with just a little over 20 parliamentarians present, despite the total number of deputies being 132.

It seems that the 'servants of the people' are guided by the principle of 'the soldier is asleep, the service continues,' and their participation in the debates only manifests when it is their turn to speak. At the same time, many deputies appear to have a particular attachment to their written remarks, as otherwise, the speech may not take place, leaving citizens without what they consider 'important' and 'useful' information.
