VIDEO: Who Doesn’t Know That During Vardan Ghukasyan's Tenure as Mayor, There Was an Atmosphere of Fear in Gyumri? - Mirzoyan
As previously reported, the National Assembly did not accept the bill ensuring Ararat Mirzoyan's participation in the meetings of the Security Council. The President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, urges journalists not to make a big deal out of this fact. He stated this during a conversation with journalists in the parliament.
"There is no force majeure here. The rejection of the project was unexpected in the sense that I thought this was a project that all factions would support, not just 'My Step.' I assure you that I don’t see a major problem here; if necessary, they will propose it again with some modification," said the President of the National Assembly.
Speaking about threats directed at the rapporteur of the anti-criminal culture bill, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the NA president mentioned that he is aware a threat occurred, but does not know by whom. Ararat Mirzoyan noted that law enforcement agencies were informed about this matter days ago. When asked about how the threat was expressed, Mirzoyan emphasized, "They called, met, and urged not to do this or that, because if you do, we will take action; this is a threat."
Regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's speech, where he hinted that Vardan Ghukasyan had looted half of the Republic's second-largest city, Ararat Mirzoyan stated: "Who does not know what kind of atmosphere of fear there was in Gyumri during his tenure as mayor? I have heard this from my friends in Gyumri. Now, if we talk specifically about the substantiations, at this moment I cannot recall specific things, but perhaps we should interview people who lived there; some things can be said. I am saying there was such an atmosphere in Gyumri; there was also waste and embezzlement of state and public funds, and a picture of the power serving personal and surrounding interests."
When asked why law enforcement does not take action if Vardan Ghukasyan is connected to the looting, Ararat Mirzoyan responded that the question should be directed to law enforcement agencies themselves.
