Pashinyan Considers Armenian Diaspora in the US a Key Resource for Economic Ties
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has noted that one of the crucial factors for elevating the economic relations between Armenia and the United States is the significant economic activity of the Armenian diaspora in the US. According to Armenpress, the Prime Minister expressed this viewpoint during his speech at the year-end event of the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia.
“We have a very important resource for developing Armenian-American business and economic ties. A substantial part of our diaspora in the United States is engaged in significant and tangible economic activities. This is also one of the key factors that should elevate the relations between Armenia and the US to a new level,” Pashinyan stated.
He emphasized that he can assure that both the Armenian and US governments are determined to address and resolve this issue. The Prime Minister indicated that this year, a strategic dialogue with the United States has commenced, which is already yielding certain results.
“Recently, the US Embassy issued a statement highlighting that the scale of programs being implemented in Armenia by the US is significantly increasing. This is great news for us, and we consider it an important sign that our cooperation, both politically and economically, should be expanded and have concrete expressions,” Pashinyan added.
