We Will Throw Them Against the Walls and Lay Them on the Asphalt: Pashinyan to MP
In response to a question from a parliament member regarding the adequacy of legal regulations to eliminate criminal subculture in the proposed package of amendments and additions to the Criminal Code authored by the government, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated:
“Our political team has formulated a political objective that the promotion and glorification of criminal subculture in Armenia must be eradicated. If there are individuals, including political figures and members of parliament, who think that there will be compromises on this issue and believe that they can threaten an MP indirectly regarding this law, I say directly: we will throw them against the walls and lay them on the asphalt in the literal sense of the phrase. No one should try—whether past or present—thinking that they can escape because they stole half of the second-largest city in the Republic. We will throw them against the walls and lay them on the asphalt.”
