Pashinyan Claims He is Forming a 'Completely New Message' on the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue, What Could This Message Be? - Zakaryan
Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan wrote on his Facebook page: 'For years, anti-Armenian sentiment in Azerbaijan has become a fundamental and integral part of state policy. It has deeply rooted itself in school textbooks and poisons the thought processes of the country’s youth. This has been repeatedly signaled by various intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations dealing with issues of racism and xenophobia.'
'All previous governments have come to the conclusion that the realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh is of vital importance. This has not only been the unified view of Armenia and Artsakh but also of the entire global Armenian community. This message has also been reiterated several times at Armenia-Diaspora conferences as a united stance of the entire Armenian nation.'
'Pashinyan, during his meeting with several representatives of the French Armenian community, stated that he is 'forming a completely new message' on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, again failing to clarify what this message is. According to Pashinyan, it appears that this still-unknown 'new message' will soon also be the identical view of the entire Armenian community.'
'Strange phenomena are occurring in the Armenian world. The conflict has persisted for 30 years, during which we have experienced wars and military actions, seen numerous negotiations and options discussed, and encountered initiatives from various countries. The principles and norms of resolution have been highlighted with great difficulty, negotiations have been interrupted and then resumed multiple times. And after all this, is Pashinyan the 'brilliant mind' that has finally found the peace settlement formula that is 'completely new' and, interestingly, also the identical view of the entire Armenian community without anyone's knowledge?'
'Does Pashinyan know how to ensure that Azerbaijan officially recognizes the Republic of Artsakh within its current territories, and fully guarantees to refrain from posing a threat to the security of Artsakh? My envisioned new message is this, and the unanimous opinion of the entire Armenian community can only be this.'
