Former Police Chief Haik Harutyunyan's Key Witness in Suicide Case Returns to Armenia
According to the «Zhoghovurd» newspaper, on October 16 it was reported that the key witness who was in the house with former police chief Haik Harutyunyan, who allegedly committed suicide in his private residence in Bjni, had left the Republic of Armenia on the day of the incident. However, the newspaper received information yesterday that the crucial witness in the suicide case of the former police chief has returned to Armenia.
It is worth noting that ArmLur.am previously reported that N.H., a witness to the incident, expressed dissatisfaction shortly before his death, questioning how he could have lived a clean life for years while now facing humiliation and a disgraceful end. According to our information, the witness N.H., who was present in Harutyunyan's home, had a long career in the police system.
During Harutyunyan's tenure as head of the department, law enforcement officials opened a criminal case regarding abuse of public office. However, the indictment could not be substantiated, and the case did not reach a judicial conclusion. Nevertheless, shortly after the incident, the witness left the country.
The Investigative Committee also informed that the witness had previously stated to the pre-investigation body that he would return to Armenia in a few days. And indeed, he has returned.
