ISIS Claims Responsibility for the Murder of Armenian Clergy in Qamishli
The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the murders of Armenian Catholic community pastor Father Hovsep Petoyan and his father, Father Abraham Petoyan, in Qamishli on November 11.
According to Armenpress, citing TASS, this information was reported by the Rudaw television network.
The Armenian Catholic pastor and his father were killed while traveling by car to Deir ez-Zor to assess the situation of the Catholic church. The terrorists opened fire on their vehicle.
As a result of the gunfire, the pastor's father was killed on the spot, and moments later, Pastor Father Hovsep Petoyan also lost his life. Additionally, the gunfire from the terrorists injured Father Fathi Sano, the deacon of the Hasiche church.
