Fire Breaks Out Near the National Assembly Building
Today, Auroranews.am received reports of a fire breaking out near the intersection of Moscowyan and Tumanyan Streets, behind the Moscowyan Street area. Another eyewitness reported that smoke from the fire is visible near the National Assembly building, in the vicinity of Proshyan and Demirchyan Streets. There are reports that the police have closed off the area around the National Assembly garden, which had previously been open to visitors.
The 911 service has announced that a firefighting and rescue team has been dispatched to the scene. They received a call on November 9 at 15:11 regarding a fire that had ignited in one of the buildings on Demirchyan Street in Yerevan.
Emergency teams from the Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan have dispatched two firefighting brigades to the scene, along with response and operational teams from the National Center for Crisis Management, as well as a psychological consultant from the psychological support division.
At 15:22, the complexity of the fire was rated at “1-Bis,” prompting two more firefighting brigades to respond from the Rescue Department. Subsequently, upon rating it as “Level 2,” two additional brigades were dispatched. Finally, following a “Level 3” rating, four fire brigades were sent to the scene, followed by five more.
In total, 15 firefighting brigades and one aerial ladder are participating in the firefighting operations. Further information will be provided.
