VIDEO: Another Corruption Crime Uncovered
According to the official website of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, based on a letter received from the Office of the Prosecutor General, it has been revealed that another corruption-related crime was committed by the main department for fighting organized crime of the police, based on materials prepared by the department for combating corruption and crimes against economic activities.
Specifically, according to the factual data obtained during the investigation, in 2005, funded by the “Lins” foundation, the company “Yerevannakhagits” implemented construction works for a new highway connecting Heratsi, Saralanj, and Avetisyan streets in Yerevan. Included in the project was also the total cost of the work for the relocation of the sewer line of the RA National Security Service reception house, amounting to 10,702,431 AMD.
In this regard, the management of “Mostovik” LLC, recognized as the winner of the tender announced by the state organization “Road Construction CIIG,” took advantage of the opportunity created by the failure of the competent officials of the aforementioned CIIG to perform their official duties, and instead of carrying out the sewer line relocation work for the NSC reception house, dismantled and clogged the sewer line.
Furthermore, the competent officials of the “Road Construction CIIG” unjustifiably removed the mentioned works from the list of works scheduled for execution with the certificate drawn up for September 2008, resulting in the NSC reception house being deprived of the possibility to use the sewer line.
A criminal case has been initiated in the police regarding apparent abuses of office and instances of abuse of authority by the organization's employees, causing significant damage. An investigation is underway.
