VIDEO: Alarm Raised as Police Use Force, Details Revealed
Auroranews has received reports that police officers used physical force against citizens at the intersection of Nairi Zaryan and Armen Tigranyan streets in Yerevan. Our correspondent on the scene clarified that the issue pertains to a plot of land located at 100/8 Nairi Zaryan. Residents assert that they have never sold their property, but currently, a multi-apartment building construction is underway by ‘Svetlana Ohanyan’ LLC on that land.
Remarkably, the construction began back in 2008. Citizens indicate that their complaints during this period went unanswered, and when the political power in the country changed, they decided to halt the construction of the building, which is already standing.
Auroranews also contacted the Head of the Media Relations and Analysis Department of the RA Police, Zarzand Gabrielyan, to clarify whether the police used force against citizens and what the reason was. “We received an alarm that local residents blocked the entrance of the building and were not allowing others to enter their legal territory. The police who arrived at the scene conducted explanatory work, and one citizen was taken to the Arabkir Police Department for failing to comply with the police’s legal demand,” said Mr. Gabrielyan.
