Robinson as a Presidential Candidate of Abkhazia

Robinson as a Presidential Candidate of Abkhazia

The newspaper “Zhamanak” reports that sources from the Abkhazian newspaper are actively discussing the participation of Armenian criminal authority Ruben Tatulian, known as Robinson, in the presidential elections of Abkhazia.

The issue is that the overwhelming majority of Armenians living in Abkhazia have voted for the opposition candidate Alkhaz Kviciniya, while about 5,000 Armenians residing in Sochi voted for the incumbent president Raul Khajimba.

Armenians living in Russia were not supposed to have the opportunity to participate in the Abkhazian elections, but they did. At one point, Robinson had approached the Russian authorities to resolve the citizenship issue for the 5,000 Armenians in Sochi but was rejected.

In a surprising turn, Abkhazian President Khajimba offered Robinson a deal, granting citizenship to Armenians in Sochi on the condition that they participate in the presidential elections and vote for him. For citizens of Abkhazia, obtaining Russian citizenship is as simple as drinking a glass of water; they can get registered and receive a passport at the Sochi passport office.

Further details can be found in today’s edition of the newspaper.
