Man Arrested for Making Sexual Harassment Remarks towards Bookstore Saleswoman
On November 5, at 6:25 PM, the police received a report from the Shengavit division that a drunken man was breaking the windows of a bookstore located on Araratyan Street. An operational group that responded quickly to the call detained a 47-year-old resident of Artashisyan Street on suspicion of hooliganism.
It turned out that he had been verbally harassing the bookstore saleswoman with sexual insults for about 15 minutes, displaying blatant disrespect towards society, and had broken the showcase and door glass.
A criminal case was initiated on hooliganism grounds, and the detained man was arrested. Notably, he had been previously detained by the Shengavit police on September 28 for intentionally damaging the fender of a neighbor's car, causing material damage. In that instance, a criminal case was also initiated, but he was released on signature.
The investigation is ongoing.
