The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.9 and was registered at geographical coordinates of 37.820° N latitude and 48.340° E longitude, located 45 km south of Ardabil, Iran, and 210 km southeast of Meghri, Armenia, with a depth of 10 km.
According to reports, the earthquake resulted in 5 fatalities and 120 injuries. The intensity of the tremor reached 8-9 points in the epicentral zone.
