Fact: The Investigative Committee Summoned Alik Arzumanyan for Questioning in the March 1 Case but Later Backtracked; Another Individual is Targeted

The newspaper 'Fact' reports that, according to its sources, the Investigative Committee of Armenia had decided months ago to summon Alexander Arzumanyan, the Armenian ambassador to Sweden and Iceland, for questioning in the context of the March 1 case. Arzumanyan was the head of Levon Ter-Petrosyan's election campaign during the 2008 presidential elections and was a key figure in the events of March 1.

The newspaper had previously reported that Arzumanyan was to be summoned for questioning. According to sources, a notification was sent to Arzumanyan in August, but subsequently, that invitation was canceled.

The reasons for this decision and whether Arzumanyan will be summoned again for questioning remain unclear. At the same time, the newspaper has learned that in the coming days, former National Assembly President Tigran Torosyan will also be summoned for questioning as a witness in the case.

Details will be provided in today's issue of the newspaper.
