Dean of Yerevan State University Journalism Faculty Comments on Gagik Tsarukyan's Statement

“Fortunately, you have called a dean of a faculty where there has never been a case of receiving a red diploma through connections, and I am ready to bear all responsibilities prescribed by law,” said Naghash Martirosyan, the dean of the Yerevan State University Journalism Faculty, in an interview with ArmDaily.am, regarding the statement made by Gagik Tsarukyan, head of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), to a journalist yesterday.

Recall that yesterday, after the opening of Tsarukyan's factory, journalists asked him whether business and politics were separated today. When Tsarukyan replied positively, the journalist asked why he is still a deputy, why he is in parliament. This threw Tsarukyan off balance. “My dear girl, I am not a businessman; I am an owner. What have you completed? What does a journalist who graduated from YSU have to do with anything?” When the journalist mentioned that she graduated with a red diploma from the YSU Journalism Faculty, Tsarukyan added, “You probably didn’t graduate well; you graduated through connections. Who else would be a deputy? Do you want to be a deputy? Now more than half of them are deputies like you, who can’t put two stones together.”
