Armenia Possesses All Necessary Infrastructure to Host EBRD Annual Meeting at Highest Level

The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, received a delegation led by Enzo Quattrociocchi, the Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on November 8. According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, the main objective of the two-day visit is to assess Yerevan's capabilities to host the EBRD annual meeting in 2021.

In May of this year, during a working visit to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Deputy Prime Minister Avinyan had already expressed Armenia's intention to host the event in a conversation with the EBRD President, as well as during meetings with vice-presidents and other senior staff.

The EBRD annual meetings gather delegations from countries, guests, and representatives of the business community to discuss institutional issues of the organization. Additionally, a business conference and a special investment session related to the host country also take place.

Avinyan noted that the successful hosting of the Francophonie Summit in 2018 and the World Information Technology Conference in 2019 clearly demonstrate that Armenia is ready and has all the necessary infrastructure to host the EBRD annual meeting at the highest level.
