Argument Over Party Tables Leads to Stabbing and Murder of a Friend
The investigation into a murder case in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative regions of Yerevan has been completed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Charges have been brought against a 41-year-old man.
The pre-trial investigation revealed the circumstances surrounding the fatal injury of a 32-year-old man, as well as the motive for the crime. According to the investigation, the 41-year-old man from Yerevan, while under the influence of alcohol, got into an argument with his 32-year-old friend during a gathering organized at a conversation space behind one of the buildings in Yerevan on July 14, 2019, around 11:30 PM.
After some time, the conversation escalated into a dispute, during which the 41-year-old man, with the intent to unlawfully deprive his friend of life, struck him once in the left side of the chest with a knife he had previously taken with him, causing an injury incompatible with life.
Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, the 41-year-old man has been charged under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been placed in detention as a preventive measure. The completion of the investigation has been announced, and the case, along with the request to confirm the indictment and forward it to court, has been sent to the prosecutor responsible for supervising the legality of the pre-trial investigation.
