Zonik Margaryan Appointed as Acting Head of Yerevan's Kentron Community, Replacing Viktor Mnatsakanyan
Zonik Margaryan has been appointed as the acting head of Yerevan's Kentron administrative district. This information was confirmed to Armtimes.com by the spokesperson for the mayor, Hakob Karapetyan.
Prior to this appointment, Zonik Margaryan held the position of deputy head of the administrative district.
The former head of the Kentron administrative district, Viktor Mnatsakanyan, submitted his resignation on November 1, which was approved by Yerevan’s Deputy Mayor Hrachya Saroyan.
The mayor’s office also confirmed that Viktor Mnatsakanyan faced disciplinary action, stating, “In accordance with the October 2 order of the Mayor of Yerevan, for failing to properly organize the replacement of dumpsters, a reprimand has been issued as a disciplinary sanction to Viktor Mnatsakanyan, the head of the Kentron administrative district.”
Acting head Zonik Margaryan is the father of Alek Simonyan, a deputy speaker of the National Assembly and a member of the “My Step” faction. Margaryan has previously served as the head of the staff of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia. In 2010, he submitted his resignation after receiving two serious reprimands from Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and being subjected to a disciplinary sanction.
