Turkey has also arrested al-Baghdadi's wife, Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced during an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University that Turkish forces have also arrested the wife of the former Islamic State leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, according to ermenihaber.
Erdoğan hinted that after al-Baghdadi committed suicide in a tunnel surrounded by U.S. forces, the U.S. began to release information on the topic. However, when Turkey arrested al-Baghdadi's wife, he noted, there was no outcry.
The Turkish president also stated that he was announcing the arrest of al-Baghdadi's wife for the first time: “In the same way, we arrested his (al-Baghdadi's) sister and son-in-law in Syria. We are continuing our efforts in this direction with great momentum,” Erdoğan said.
It is reminded that on November 5, Fahrettin Altun, the head of the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, confirmed on Twitter the arrest of al-Baghdadi's sister, Rasmiya Awadi, as well as her father-in-law and five children by Turkish forces.
