VIDEO: Meeting on Police Officers Receiving Bribes
On November 5, a working meeting was held at the police department, chaired by acting Police Chief Arman Sarkisyan. Present were members of the police board, heads of central headquarters units, territorial departments, sections, and mid-level officers.
Arman Sarkisyan, welcoming those present, spoke about the incident of police officers receiving bribes the previous day. He noted that the police force will continue its self-cleaning process. It has been repeatedly stated that there will be zero tolerance for any manifestations of corruption within the police.
The acting police chief once again emphasized that any officer who violates the law will be identified and held accountable.
Continuing on the theme of combating corruption, Arman Sarkisyan urged police subdivisions to intensify their work in uncovering crimes of a corrupt nature.
He addressed the dynamics of crime trends and disclosures. Arman Sarkisyan expressed concern over the rise in certain types of crimes and provided specific instructions for their prevention and uncovering.
Discussing issues related to services provided to citizens, he urged the leadership of the Traffic Police and the Passport and Visa Department to maintain discipline and provide high-quality services to the public.
The operational situation was reviewed on a regional basis, and specific tasks were assigned based on particular cases.
Acting Police Chief Arman Sarkisyan instructed several police subdivisions to continue collaborative work to prevent and uncover illegal logging cases, involving staff from other police services as well.
The meeting also addressed issues related to police documentation, operational services, logistical support, and discipline, among other matters.
