Russia Sells More Weapons to Armenia: Kalashnikov Comments on Arms Sales to Azerbaijan
The issue of Russia's arms sales to Azerbaijan was not discussed today, as this is a parliamentary assembly. This was stated by Leonid Kalashnikov, the chairman of the State Duma's Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots, during a session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
“We are discussing issues related to our parliamentary activities,” Kalashnikov noted.
“Russia sells arms not only to Azerbaijan, but it also sells to both its partners and its allies, for example, Armenia. Moreover, it sells much more and types of weapons that other countries do not sell,” Kalashnikov stated.
In response to a remark that Armenia is concerned about the fact that Russia sells weapons to Azerbaijan, Kalashnikov replied, “Of course, it is alarming, just as it is alarming for Azerbaijan that modern weapons are being sold to Armenia. That’s why there are country leaders.”
