Prime Minister Asked Me Where I See Myself, I Mentioned Three Positions: Sanasaryan

The Prime Minister asked me where I see myself, and I mentioned three positions: Chief of Police, Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, and Chairman of the State Revenue Committee. This was stated by the suspended head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, Davit Sanasaryan, during an interview with Azatutyun.

“The Prime Minister asked me where I see myself, and I mentioned three positions: Chief of Police, Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, and Chairman of the State Revenue Committee. I couldn’t choose the Chief of Police because of legal issues; between the other two, I chose the Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee,” he noted.

In response to the observation that he “rejected Serzh Sargsyan,” but appeared in court before him, Sanasaryan reacted: “I hope that Serzh Sargsyan will still stand trial, and not just him.”

When asked if he regretted taking the position of Head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, he answered: “I do not regret it; if I had regretted, I would have resigned. I believe I chose a very suitable job for myself after the revolution, and I hope to continue my work. I promised our citizens that I would fight against corruption, and by the end of my term, we will not have corruption. I cannot say there is now corruption or not, but the former officials must bear full responsibility, and I believe our authorities should be harsher towards the former officials, rather than making comments over coffee.”

He also did not deny that he has connections with “Monakhi Armenia”: “Yes, I have connections, I have connections with many people, whether they are from Moscow or Washington, there are relationships, but I do not have any criminal connections with known individuals.”

It’s worth noting that despite Davit Sanasaryan stating that there would be no position for him in the government after the change of power, he was soon appointed as the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee.
