Minister Claims 'Incorrect Information': Gor Sujyan’s Post and Ministry's Response

Artist Gor Sujyan has made a post stating that the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport allegedly provided "incorrect information" regarding his approval of the performance "Huzank and Zang." This was reported by the press service of the Ministry, which continued: "In addition to the fact that there is a protocol signed by Gor Sujyan, which we are publishing, we find it important to emphasize that the minister stated not about approvals but, in response to a journalist's question, published the list of committee members. It is also noteworthy that the singer has essentially pointed out exactly what was written in the Ministry’s clarification; the project presented to the ministry was the staging of contemporary readings of Armenian poets."

Recall that singer Gor Sujyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Dear people, I just saw that the minister mentions my name as an expert who has approved this performance, but I want to state that this is incorrect information, as I have not approved such a performance. I was invited as a young musician to express my opinion on this or that cultural program, but not as an expert, as an expert is someone who is deeply informed about the programs. Personally, I have been informed about the programs very superficially, and if I’m not mistaken, this performance was cited as 'A Day of Readings of Armenian Authors from the 1920s.' In any case, I am a believing Christian, and if I saw something that goes against the Christian value system, I would not approve of it.”
