Why Should Araik Harutyunyan Resign? The Meeting of the Civil Contract Party Has Concluded

The closed meeting of the "My Step" faction held at the Civil Contract party office has concluded, attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonian noted during a conversation with journalists that various questions from participants concerning a range of topics were raised.

When asked by reporters if a question regarding the activities of the Public Council was raised, Alen Simonian stated there was an exchange of opinions. "I did not leave a room where decisions are made. There were questions raised and opinions exchanged. A question was raised concerning the Public Council, and there was a response. I personally have my opinion; I can say that the Public Council is a senseless structure. The Prime Minister also presented his view, but it is not correct for me to disclose it now," Simonian said, according to Armenpress.

In response to the question of whether Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Araik Harutyunyan would resign, Alen Simonian replied with a question: "Why should Araik Harutyunyan resign? If some people need to decide which presentation is good and which is bad, then we will not achieve anything. One person likes a certain style, does not consider it Turkish, posts songs on their social media wall, takes pictures with them, and writes 'my brother'... You know, there are more important topics than those that they are trying to throw into the field of these emotional issues. Please do not fall for these trivial, cheap tricks anymore. Recently we have been attributed numerous negative things, saying that we are devil worshippers, and so on. All this will not end successfully. The citizens of Armenia know that they are being paid to discredit us, and I say it will not work," Simonian stated.
