«Rossiya 1» Displays Map of ‘Kurdistan’ Including Turkish Territories
The Turkish media has focused attention on a map displayed during a broadcast by the Russian television network, featuring the name ‘Kurdistan,’ as reported by ermenihaber.am.
During a Sunday news roundup on the state-owned ‘Rossiya 1’ channel, a map of ‘Kurdistan’ was shown, which also included significant portions of southeastern regions of the Republic of Turkey, including much of Western Armenia.
Earlier, on November 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov mentioned in an interview with ‘Rossiya 24’ that “you cannot escape the Kurdish issue, as many Kurds live in Turkey.” A Turkish source asserted that such a map disregards Turkey’s “territorial integrity.” Furthermore, the map encompasses some areas of Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
