Get Ready. Marina Khachatryan Submits Resignation Letter

Former member of the Yerevan City Council and president of the "Healthy Society" NGO, Marina Khachatryan, has stated:

“Announcement Dear colleagues, patients, journalists, compatriots,

Today marks my 38th birthday, 15 of which I have dedicated to the work of saving human lives. Being loyal to the Hippocratic Oath, I have loved and greatly valued my teachers and have always been ready to use my knowledge and abilities to improve the health of our community.

Making my profession the number one priority in my life, I have also engaged actively in our country's public and political sphere in recent years. Evaluating all political processes with a doctor’s eye, I have fought to revive our country just as I fight for each human life.

It is with sadness that I note that our homeland is currently seriously ill, under the grip of invaders, and I, as a sworn Hippocrat, am obliged to dedicate my life and health to the defense of Armenia’s “health.”

My public-political activism, which is undesirable for some, has been a reason for political persecution (both under former and current regimes). My name has been regularly associated with my superiors, wherever I have worked (having changed three workplaces in the last three years), which is unacceptable to me.

Today, on my 38th anniversary, I announce that I am temporarily suspending my medical practice to fight more actively in the public-political arena.

I extend my gratitude to all my colleagues for their professionalism, selfless work, dedication to our sacred cause, and warm friendships. You are irreplaceable. I love each of you from the heart.

I apologize to all my patients for my inability to provide them with professional assistance temporarily.

To those concerned about my livelihood, I remind you who my brother is and where he is. Rest assured, I am in safe hands.

The time has come for me to dedicate my time and life to the defense of the Armenian homeland.

There will be no forgiveness for any traitor to the homeland. Anyone plotting against the homeland will answer to the Armenian nation and Armenian laws.
