During My First Contact with Aliyev, I Am Organizing a Conspiracy: Prime Minister Responds to Rumors
In a Facebook live stream conversation with citizens, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the recent rumor that he had secretly conspired with Aliyev in an elevator in Dushanbe. According to the gossip, the head of security, Grigori Hayrapetyan, witnessed this, leading the Prime Minister to suggest that he resign according to his own request.
“So, according to the conversations, I am such an incompetent conspirator, such a foolish conspirator, that during my very first contact with Aliyev, I am organizing a conspiracy, and second, I am doing this in the presence of Robert Kocharyan’s and Serzh Sargsyan’s bodyguard for 10 years each. The person I have interacted with for four months has been my bodyguard for four months, but before that he was a bodyguard for Kocharyan and Sargsyan for 10 years,” Pashinyan said, adding that if Hayrapetyan were indeed a witness to a conspiratorial agreement, he would have kept him closer rather than removing him from office so that he could tell whatever he wanted as a free man.
“Hayrapetyan submitted his resignation, and it has nothing to do with his presence in the elevator. He was dismissed at my decision, but at his own request,” Pashinyan emphasized.
