Bus Driver Plows into Stop in Istanbul, Then Stabs Bystanders
A city bus in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul lost control for unknown reasons and crashed into a bus stop. This was reported by neohaber.net.
The bus driver exited the vehicle and began attacking people with a knife who tried to stop him from fleeing. He injured one individual before leaping into the sea. However, the police managed to arrest him. It has been reported that the driver is a 33-year-old man named Nejdət.
As a result of the incident, 13 people were injured, one of whom was stabbed by the driver. One of the injured later died in the hospital, and another is in critical condition. All the injured have been transported to the hospital, including three citizens of Iran and two children.
It remains unclear whether the driver intended to crash into the bus stop deliberately. An investigation has been launched.
