“I must sadly note that the Zoo has, for years, become a topic for collecting certain political dividends for various parties at different times,” said Ruben Khachatryan, the zoo's director who has submitted his resignation today.

According to Khachatryan, he will clarify the upcoming actions related to the zoo on Monday when he speaks with the mayor. He intends to collaborate with the city authorities and the zoo's management, regardless of his position.

The zoo employees have self-organized and have been on duty at the zoo overnight, which has proven that the zoo needs a fence. This statement was made by Ruben Khachatryan, who has submitted his resignation as the director of the zoo.

He responded to claims that the dog attacks were fabricated, saying, “I hope this incident will finally serve as the reason for the zoo to have a wall around it, even if it costs my resignation.”

Khachatryan insists that for him, the position is not what matters, but rather the future work related to the zoo. He expressed this during a conversation with journalists.

Khachatryan also addressed the demands that have been ongoing for about a year for him to resign.
