The Head of Shnavan Village Arrested on Suspicion of Kidnapping

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on November 2, a 39-year-old resident of Shnavan village in the Armavir region, Arthur Mkrtchyan, was arrested by a decision of an investigator of the Armavir regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a criminal case has been initiated against Mkrtchyan under Article 131, Part 1 (kidnapping) of the RA Criminal Code. According to G. Shamshyan, Mkrtchyan, who is the village mayor of Shnavan, may also be charged with another crime.
