"Zhamanak" newspaper reports that the official of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Gegham Vanuni, who recently came under media scrutiny for illegally failing to clear a businessman's goods at the Bagratashen customs checkpoint and applying physical violence against him, has not only escaped accountability but was also promoted immediately afterward. Vanuni has now been reassigned to his favored position.

Following the incident, Vanuni was appointed head of the division for overseeing customs operations related to foreign economic activity in the internal security department of the SRC. Recently, he has once again been appointed head of the Bagratashen customs checkpoint. While it is considered one rank lower than his previous post, it is deemed more "lucrative".

Vanuni's preferential treatment is attributed to his status as an appointee of SRC President Davit Ananyan. Being an employee of the SRC, he is not only involved in business but reportedly also supplies goods directly to the SRC. Gegham Vanuni is personally the founder of the "Made To Make" LLC.
