VIDEO: Hunanian Makes Scandalous Statements About Kocharian and Vazgen Sargsyan

At the office of the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA), a discussion entitled "20 Years After October 27: Reflection on the Past, Lessons and Thoughts" has taken place. Earlier, the office announced that access to media outlets such as news.am, hayeli.am, 168.am, Yerevan Today, 7or.am, livenews.am, Channel 5, and Yerevan Media was restricted.

During the discussion, MP Arman Babajanyan revealed new details regarding a two-hour meeting with Nairi Hunanian. The latter provided names of individuals who are currently "actors in our domestic political life, clearly positioned, with specific political objectives and orientations."

“Nairi Hunanian is not impressed by the Velvet Revolution. I did not feel fear from him; on the contrary, he – like 20 years ago – still thinks he has a mission to fulfill and a duty to complete today. He believes that his freedom is not as important as that of the people; he considers himself a messenger even now,” said Babajanyan.

The MP presented scandalous details from the meeting: “Hunanian does not believe that he intended to kill Karen Demirchyan or Vazgen Sargsyan; he was describing certain things, saying that the parliament's woodwork was very sturdy, Soviet-made... Hunanian was reluctant to speak, and I did not press him, so as not to cause health complications. He was confident that if he had not committed the crime, it would have been much worse for Armenia. I asked him directly, 'Do you not exclude that you might not succeed in taking power that day, and it would remain with R. Kocharian?' He was certain that if power remained with Kocharian, it would be a much better outcome for Armenia than if Vazgen Sargsyan continued as Prime Minister.”
