VIDEO: An Administrative Leader in Syunik Engaged in Illegal Tree Cutting with His Sons

On October 25, police officers from the Kapan division conducted a patrol and discovered around 4 cubic meters of wood from the "Pear" and "Quince" species in the area known as "Chmani Spring" in the village of Chakatent, Kapan community. They also found three chainsaws and an axe.

As a result of the actions taken, it was determined that the wood was cut down without the appropriate permit by an administrative leader from one of the localities in the Syunik province, along with his sons. They stated that they had cut the trees for their own needs.

The wood has been handed over to the Kapan Forestry branch of the Armenian Forests State Non-Commercial Organization. The chainsaws and axe have been seized. The extent of the damage is being determined, and materials are being prepared.
