Soldier Missing from Military Unit Discusses His Issues

A soldier who went missing from one of the military units in Kapan, Syunik region on October 20 and was found the day before has been visited by his lawyer, who claims that the soldier had a serious reason for leaving the unit.

“I cannot disclose the reason for leaving the military unit, but I can say that it was a compelling reason that was in his favor, and there is no question of any criminal liability. He had problems, and the circumstances were such that he had no other option,” said the lawyer, Hayarpi Sargsyan, in an interview with NEWS.am.

The lawyer also noted that the soldier had suffered from psychological issues and was deemed fit for service with restrictions upon enlistment.
