Customs Worker Dismissed by Pashinyan to Rejoin Service
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has made a post on his Facebook page, informing about one of his directives.
“Dear compatriots, you all remember that on April 9 of this year, during my visit to the Yerevan customs house, I ordered the dismissal of a customs officer (who was later identified as Hayk Martirosyan) due to inappropriate behavior towards the state flag of the Republic of Armenia. Today, I instructed the head of the State Revenue Committee, David Ananyan, to readmit Martirosyan to service within the SRC system. I believe this period was sufficient for all of us to make proper conclusions regarding the situation,” he wrote.
“P.S. Since April, I have repeatedly observed that there is a need to establish standards for the treatment of the state flag of the Republic of Armenia, starting from the technical standards of the state flag (what the flag should look like during official events, how it should be displayed in the workplace, flags placed outdoors, etc.) to the procedures for its installation and the attitude towards it. In the near future, I plan to give concrete instructions on this subject,” he added.
