Hrayr Tovmasyan Remains the 'Last Bastion' of the Former Authorities, Says Simonian
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has announced that it has obtained information regarding the alleged abuse of official powers by Hrayr Tovmasyan.
Is this a step viewed in the context of the unfolding events around Hrayr Tovmasyan and his family? This was the question posed by SHANTNEWS.am to the Vice President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian.
"I do not think that this is a process surrounding Hrayr Tovmasyan or anyone else. It is no secret that today Hrayr Tovmasyan and certain representatives of the judicial authority can be considered the 'last bastion' of the former authorities, as they were appointed to serve that power at the time. There are very serious questions regarding Hrayr Tovmasyan's appointment," Simonian stated, adding that he does not wish to comment further to avoid being perceived as exerting pressure.
