Foreign Minister of Artsakh to Speak at the U.S. Congress
The working visit of the delegation led by Masis Mayilyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, has begun in Washington, D.C. According to the Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation includes Davit Melkumyan, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Foreign Relations.
As the keynote speaker, Masis Mayilyan will address an event in the U.S. Congress dedicated to the independence of the Republic of Artsakh. Several meetings are also scheduled with the leaders and members of the main committees of the U.S. Congress, as well as speeches at renowned analytical centers operating in Washington.
The Foreign Minister will also meet with representatives of Armenian community organizations. On October 28, the Artsakh delegation met at the Armenian Embassy in the United States with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the U.S., Varuzhan Nersesyan, and the diplomatic staff of the embassy. The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in the U.S., Robert Avetisyan, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister presented the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Artsakh and the main directions of the ministry's activities, which include efforts aimed at international recognition of Artsakh and the expansion of external relations. In this context, Masis Mayilyan emphasized the importance of developing relations with the United States at various levels.
The Foreign Minister answered several questions from the meeting participants.
