Avetik Ishkhanian and Artsakh Ombudsman Become Guarantors for Arsen Babayan's Release

Human rights defender Avetik Ishkhanian and Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan have submitted a written request to the criminal prosecution authorities, expressing their readiness to guarantee Arsen Babayan's proper conduct during the investigation of his case, both in words and through monetary means. This information was provided by Babayan's defense team.

“Human rights defender, head of the 'Helsinki Committee of Armenia' NGO Avetik Ishkhanian and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan (in a personal capacity) have submitted a written request to the criminal prosecution authorities, expressing their willingness to guarantee Arsen Babayan's proper conduct during the investigation of the criminal case,” stated the announcement released by the defense team.

“Based on these guarantees, we have submitted a request to the supervising prosecutor to change the selected measure of restraint from arrest to a personal guarantee and to release Arsen Babayan,” the statement added.
