If someone had said during the war that a deserter would accuse you, I would have laughed. Manukyan

If this is his initiative—of a person I don't even know and can't say anything about—then it is simply ridiculous.

This was stated by the President of the Public Council, Vazgen Manukyan, in a conversation with a NEWS.am correspondent, commenting on MP Arman Babajanyan's request to the Prime Minister to remove him from office.

"If Nikol Pashinyan is behind this, then it is unclear to me. It is true that legally the Prime Minister cannot dismiss the President of the Public Council in the first year, but naturally, if he called and said that working together isn't working out, I would leave at that very moment. What is the point of carrying out such complex procedures?" Manukyan noted.

When asked if MP Arman Babajanyan perhaps has a personal dislike towards him, Manukyan responded, "That is simply ridiculous. And, indeed, if someone had told me during the war that a deserter would accuse me, I would have laughed. But it turned out that we have become such a country, what can I say."

It is recalled that MP Arman Babajanyan has appealed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with a request to dismiss Vazgen Manukyan from the position of President of the Public Council. "Considering the significant recent events and developments, and certainly the domestic political context, I have appealed to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to demand the dismissal of the President of the Public Council Vazgen Manukyan," he wrote.
