13 Thousand Dollars and 100 Thousand Rubles: Acting Police Chief Received Donations

Acting Chief of the Police of Armenia Arman Sargsyan, while still serving as Deputy Chief of Police, submitted his 2018 annual declaration to the Commission on Ethics for High-Ranking Officials on March 11, 2019. According to the declaration, Sargsyan acquired three real estate properties in 2018: a residential apartment for 50 million 704 thousand 500 drams, a garage for 3 million 380 thousand 300 drams, and a building attached to land for 1 million 448 thousand 700 drams.

At the beginning of 2018, Sargsyan had 12 million drams and 15 thousand dollars, which by the end of the year changed to 8 million drams and 17 thousand dollars. The acting police chief reported a total income of 50 million 61 thousand 518 drams, 13 thousand dollars, and 100 thousand rubles in 2018, deriving 5 million 661 thousand 518 drams from his salary and 44 million 400 thousand drams from loans. The 13 thousand dollars and 100 thousand rubles were received as donations or assistance.

Since Sargsyan took on the position of Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department in 2017, he owned one apartment. His wife, Lilith Sargsyan, had 10 million drams and 5 thousand dollars at the beginning of 2018, which did not change by the end of the year. Lilith Sargsyan reported an income of 2 million 741 thousand 76 drams in 2018, all coming from her salary.
