Sharmazanyan on Hunanian's Early Release Request: 'Head Against the Wall, A Thousand Apologies'

“October 27 was a crime against the state, the Armenian people, the government at that time, and the Republican Party as well,” stated the spokesperson of the Republican Party, Eduard Sharmazanyan, to journalists today. According to Sharmazanyan, the party lost its leaders on that day.

The Republican Party representative mentioned that he cannot provide legal assessments since the executioners are in prison, and if new circumstances arise, the investigative bodies should clarify the situation. Regarding the early release request submitted by the mastermind of the terrorist act, Nairi Hunanian, Sharmazanyan remarked: “Head against the wall, a thousand apologies.”

“October 27 is a pain for everyone, but it is doubly and multiply strong for those who lost their relatives,” Sharmazanyan responded today when asked how he interprets the statements made by the victims' family members regarding the terrorism incident.

Sharmazanyan stated that if anyone is aware that Republicans have concealed any instructions given during their time in power, they should notify the law enforcement agencies about it. “I say that October 27 was a crime against the Republic of Armenia as well, because Vazgen Sargsyan was the leader of our party. There are political circles trying to show that they have experienced greater suffering than anyone else, but that is not the case,” Sharmazanyan concluded.
