Woman Kills Man with Kitchen Knife in Drunken State in Gyumri
On October 24, at 19:30, the police department of Gyumri's Mush district received a call from the hospital. They reported that a 55-year-old man from a house on Gertzeni Street had been admitted with a life-threatening abdominal stab wound.
Upon arrival, the police were informed by the doctors that the man was unable to provide any explanation of how he had been injured. Investigators swiftly began their work, taking immediate and necessary actions, which yielded results in less than half an hour.
A 40-year-old woman, without a permanent residence, was apprehended on Njdeh Street on suspicion of inflicting bodily harm. She confessed that during a quarrel in the man's home, while under the influence of alcohol, she had stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
The woman’s blood alcohol level was checked, confirming she had been intoxicated. The suspect was presented to the Shirak Regional Investigation Department, where she was arrested.
The following day, at dawn, the Mush district police received a report from the Gyumri Medical Center that the man had died after failing to regain consciousness.
A criminal case has been initiated concerning the incident, and an investigation is underway.
